What is a Kloe CQC?
The CQC released updated key lines of enquiry (KLOEs) and ‘prompts’ (the questions that feed into the key lines) in November 2017. CQC inspectors use these questions to assess all providers. What is the CQC responsible for?
CQC is the independent regulator of healthcare and adult social care services in England. We make sure the care provided by hospitals, dentists, ambulances, care homes and home-care agencies meets government standards of quality and safety.
How long does a CQC registration take?
How long will it take to apply? Filling in the main form could, in some circumstances, take as much as seven or eight hours – a full working day. It’s likely to take at least two hours. Additionally, as we say above, some of the preparation work may take several weeks.

Can I employ my daughter as a carer?
If you receive a Direct Payment from your local authority to pay for your care, then the general rule is that you cannot usually hire a family member to provide your care if they live in the same house as you.
Can you care for someone privately?
Private carers provide home care on a private basis, which means they set their own hours and rates.
Do self-employed carers need to be registered with CQC?
Private self-employed carers referred to as Personal Assistants by CQC who are directly employed by an individual, or related third party, and self-employed PAs with an agreement to work directly for an individual does not need to be CQC registered.
