Re-thinking the use of robots in the care of the frail elderly

Authors: H. Draper ,T. Sorell. Feminist Association of Bioethics 2012, June 2012

Abstract:
Robots are being designed to fill the predicted ‘care gap’ as the population of over 65s continues to rise . These are currently largely single-function prototypes. The aim, however, is to increase the range and number of robot assistants with the ultimate goal of producing single, multi-functional, quasi-autonomous devices that will operate in conjunction with smart homes.

Deliverable 1.2 Report on user and system requirements and first outline of system functionality

This deliverable is a report on user and system requirements and a first outline of system functionality. It is an outcome of T1.2 (User Panel formation) and T1.3 (Formulation of basic system requirements). This deliverable will provide a guideline for required system functionality which will also include key performance indicators that are to be met by each of the development work packages.
