The capabilities of Autonomous Systems are growing: they can detonate unexploded bombs; provide care for the elderly and infirm; collect soil samples from hostile environments; and carry out significant surgical operations. The market for Autonomous Systems sector is poised for considerable growth; fuelled by the challenges of caring for a growing elderly population, increasing security threats to society, and coping with skills shortages.

Bournemouth University's School of Design, Engineering and Computing in conjunction with The Royal Academy of Engineering will be holding a one day Dissemination Workshop on the Functional rehabilitation of the motor impaired: robotics and new directions.
The event will be held on Thursday 18 June 2009 from 9:30-16:30 at the Allesbrook Lecture Theatre, Talbot Campus, Fern Barrow, Poole, Dorset, BH12 5BB

10:00 - 10:30 - Arrival and refreshments
10:30 - 10:45 - Introduction to ASRG
10:45 - 12:00 - Proposal resubmission matters including role allocation
12:00 - 13:45 - Robot house tour followed by lunch and coffee
13:45 - 14:15 - Role allocation continued if needed, or move to next item giving more time to it
14:15 - 15:15 - Responsive mode grant, topic identification and role allocation

To do so and also to get more out of our current grouping I would like to invite you for a one-day workshop at Hertfordshire with the following objectives:
1. To address issues raised by EPSRC reviewers towards next submission
2. To agree a grouping for current members leading to more clear roles in the proposal
3. To start a responsive mode grant proposal using group's expertise
Rehabilitation Robotics workshop & Network meeting in Bristol
Submitted by psajt on Wed, 06/11/2008 - 13:35The 2nd Rehabilitation Robotics Workshop will be on Friday July 11th 2008 starting at: 10.30am and finishing at 4.00pm.
Since a number of people who attended the first meeting in Southampton in expressed an interest in seeing the Bristol Robotics Lab, that will be the venue. Please find directions and maps on the BRL website:
